For This Child

What great joy we have had in announcing our referral to family and friends.  Every day when I look at the pictures of little man and baby girl, a smile spreads across my face and prayers accend to heaven on their behalf.  As I fall asleep at night, they are on my mind.  When I wake up, they are on my mind.  During the day, I calculate the time in Ethiopia and imagine what they might be doing; eating, playing, sleeping....all the while not yet knowing of a family that loves them dearly and looks forward to bringing them home.  I believe the prayer I have prayed most for them is "Lord, cover them with your wings. Fill their hearts with peace."   I want to be taking care of them NOW but must entrust them to their Creator.  Who better to take care of them.  :-)

Per the request of the government and our agency, we are not permitted to post any personal information about little man and baby girl on public sites.  Make sense...but I do have some tid bits I can share with you.  Little man's first name (given by his birth family) is the same 'boy name' we had chosen when we were pregnant with our three oldest (which ended up being girls so we never used the name).  For almost 20 years, we've had little man's name as the name of our son...if we ever had one.    Only God could and would weave a detail like that into our adoption story!!!  He leaves us awestruck.

Little man and baby girl came to the transition home on our anniversary.  Twenty three years later, on the same date that James and I stood before God, family and friends and committed our lives to each other, our sweet children arrived at the home that would united them to us forever.  Another life time commitment to be celebrated.   

Baby girl's birthday is one day after the birthday of our youngest.  A special treat for the baby of the family who is about to be booted out of the treasured spot.    The baby of the family will now have someone to baby!!

We are still waiting to hear of a court date.   Every day, we hope for the call and every day it doesn't come, brings us one day closer to meeting little man and baby girl.   Until then, we think of them ALL THE TIME, praying for God to be all that they need and longing for the day we can hold them in our arms and call them our own.
